This poem is for my daughter for whom i live and loved and cherished her phases of life. Yesterday on her birthday I was flipping through her childhood album and thought will pen down few words.
My little girl, I see you grow.
A million things, I want to know
I reveal in the warmth of your love
The silk in your hair, your softness like a dove
Your girlish innocence
Now, gives way to adolescence
In my tender care u blossomed out
Growing and learning no doubt
Impatient to test your wings
To try out many more things
Go. Easy my love, these years are heady wine
God gives everything, but in His time
I share your triumphs & heartaches
Delight in your success, soothe out your mistakes
One day, into the women you'll grow
Right from wrong, you'll gradually know
Your best adornment is your virtue,
Cherish it, for temptations will not be few
Strength of charecter& convictions,
Will gain esteem & affection
Recognise your weakness,
And glorify your strength.
Be firm, yet gentle
Be strong, yet humble
The wheel of life keeps on turning,
Darkness has to give way to the morning
Fear not challenges & problems,
Have courage to face them
Have Faith in your creator
For He is the biggest comforter
My darling, I pray for your happiness,
May you have Love, peace & success .
